The Cross House was built in 1894. It is located at 526 Union Street, in Emporia, Kansas. I purchased the house in March 2014.

I Spy…

Yes, you are thinking: Huh? But this is an extraordinary development. For, it is step one of…drum roll, please…THE CREATION OF THE MAIN PORCH LATTICE! OMG! OMG! My whole body is atingle. The cardboard will be used to create templates of the curved portions of the porch. Then, Dr. Doug can make the ‘backer…

I Spy…

…scroll down…                                         Had somebody told me a few months back that I would, one day, become terribly excited about getting my hands on vinyl trim I would have laughed for days. And yet… Life is…

Ummm…EEK!

Having hit a brick wall (see previous post) I have been looking for OTTD (other things to do). Today I vacuumed the basement of the Cross House. Few things bring me greater pleasure than vacumming. CH: Day 110

In 2019 I had cataract surgery on my left eye. Yesterday I had cataract surgery on my right eye. Getting old is weird. I was told: “Make sure you do nothing which creates dust for the next two weeks.” Well, there went my plans for today. And today was a day I had been waiting…

CH: Day 108

I also met with the city about the Violation Notice, and showed them the progress detailed in yesterday’s blog post. The city seemed pleased and was fine with my anticipating being done by the end of November.
